* The Indoor Pool closes 15 minutes earlier than the facility.
PARKING
Convenient
parking is available for free in the upper lot across from the facility on Main Street next to the Happy Kids Preschool Playground
and behind the facility on Prince Street. Metered and City Lot parking nearby may be used for free after 4:30pm Monday
- Friday and all day Saturday & Sunday. Handicap parking is available in front of the facility in the semi-circle
and behind the facility as marked.
HANDICAP ACCESS
The YMCA facility has top floor access through the main entrance
during all hours of operation. Bottom floor access through the double glass doors located in the back of the facility
is available until 10:30am Monday - Friday. Should you need to enter through the bottom floor entry after 10:30am weekdays
or anytime during the weekend, call ahead and let the YMCA know you are coming. We are more than happy to have the
bottom floor entry ready for your arrival.
WELCOME CENTER DESK
The Welcome Center is where all of our members enter!
Swipe your membership card here and come on in. Your friendly and courteous Welcome Center Attendants are
available to take care of your needs. Register for programs or get information on what's happening at your Y.
MEMBER LOUNGE
From
a hot cup of coffee in the morning to a place where friends meet throughout the day, the member lounge located on the top
floor is the main hub of the building for socializing and much, much more!
FAMILY TIME
Monday - Friday after 7pm is family time at the YMCA! Youth 16
& under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the building.
ATTIRE
Proper Attire must be worn in all areas
of your YMCA. Shirts, shorts, sweats and shoes are appropriate. No black-soled or street shoes are allowed
in the Gym, Aerobics Studio or Racquetball/Handball Courts. In the swimming pool and whirl pool, proper swim suits must
be worn. Eye goggles are required for the Racquetball/Handball courts.
FOOD & BEVERAGES
Snack and drink machines
are available throughout the facility. Snack areas are available in the Member Lounge and the bottom floor lobby.
No food or drinks are permitted in the workout areas, except a water bottle.
VISUAL RECORDING DEVICES
Video recorders,
cameras or any other visual recording devices are not allowed in your YMCA without permission from the CEO.
CHILD SUPERVISION
Members 8 & under in the YMCA facility or on YMCA grounds are required to be under the direct
supervision of a parent or legal guardian, or registered and participating in a supervised YMCA program or activity. (See
the YMCA's Facility Use Guidelines here.) The YMCA facility and properties are designed to ensure participation proceeds smoothly for all of our members.
Please respet posted rules and policies in each area. Members that have little ones to watch, but want to workout, may
use the child watch services available at Kid's Corner. See the Kid's Corner Parent Handbook (available online here, at the Welcome Center Desk or on "The Big Board")
for details on this free service.
GUEST PASSES
Youth, Adult, Family &
Weekly passes are available for purchase by guests of members at the YMCA Welcome Center Desk during regular hours of operation.
Guests may visit the facility up to three times per calendar year and must be accompanied by a YMCA adult member at all
times. Upon the purchase of a guest pass, all YMCA Policies & Procedures and the YMCA's Code of Conduct will apply to the guest. Click here to view the YMCA's Guest Pass Policies.
DRESSING
ROOMS
Male & Female Adult Dressing
Rooms. Located on the middle floor of the facility, these areas are for YMCA adult members and include daily
use lockers, showers and bathrooms as well as a steam room, sauna and whirlpool. Membership key tag required for access.
Male & Female Family/Youth Dressing Rooms. Located on the bottom floor of the facility,
these areas are for families with little ones to change, college students and youth members and include daily use lockers,
showers and bathrooms.
LOCKERS
Lockers located in the dressing rooms are for daily use only. When you come
to the YMCA, you may bring your things from home along with your own lock, select a locker and store your things during your
visit. When you are finished for the day, remove your belongings and lock from the locker. Any belongings and
locks left at the end of the day will be removed and all items will be donated to the Salvation Army.
SMOKE-FREE ENVIRONMENT
The Beckley
- Raleigh County YMCA and its properties are smoke-free facilities.
COURT RESERVATIONS
YMCA members fourteen and older may reserve the racquetball/handball
courts up to 72 hours in advance for one hour at a time by simply calling the YMCA or visiting the Welcome Center Desk.
Provide your first and last name and the time you want to play. Once the time is confirmed as open, your name will be
placed in the reservation book. Courts may not be reserved for back to back hours. Parent supervision required
for members thirteen and under. The YMCA requires protective eye goggles while playing.
LOST & FOUND
Lose something?
See lost and found located off of the pool deck on the bottom floor of the facility. The YMCA is not responsible for
lost or stolen items.
SUGGESTIONS
We encourage all of our members to make comments and concerns known. Comment
cards are available at the Welcome Center Desk. We pledge to acknowledge each comment and respond appropriately.
AWAY (Always Welcome At YMCAs) Program
AWAY Program Guests may enter the facility by presenting their membership card with the AWAY logo and additional
proof of identification to the Welcome Center Desk. Copies will be made of both and the AWAY guest must sign-in.
Once signed in, all YMCA Policies & Procedures and the YMCA's Code of Conduct will apply to the AWAY guest.
