Are you a strong swimmer, love interacting with people, and looking
for the ultimate job around water? Then the YMCA Lifeguard Certification Class is for you. Offered every spring at the
YMCA, this class certifies you in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer,
and AED. To be accepted into the class, the following must be successfully completed:
PRE-REQUISITE SWIMMING
TEST
1. 500 Meter Swim (200 Meters Freestyle,
200 Meters Breaststroke, 100 Meters choice of the two previous strokes)
2. 10 pound brick tow from the deep end of the pool to the shallow end on the back with both hands holding
on to the brick and your head not going under the water
CLASS FEE
Participants must register at the front desk of the YMCA by paying a $25 non-refundable
registration fee before they will be allowed to take the pre-requisite test. Upon successful completion of pre-requisite, registration
fee will be applied to the remaining balance of class fee.
